Lake Somerville State Park and Trailway
Rte 1 Box 49914222 Park Rd 57Summerville TX, 77879-9713Beautiful Somerville Lake consist of over 8,700 acres and with three main sections: Nails Creek, Birch Creek and Somerville Wildlife Management Area, which is a public hunting area. Spring Wildflowers enhance a 13 mile trail that connects the Nails Creek and Birch Creek area; which both have beautiful campgrounds. The campgrounds in both areas offer spacious sites with dense trees providing exceptional privacy. At both Nails Creek and Birch Creek you will also find paved back in parking with grassy areas. Birch Creek is quite popular with the younger, college age crowd while the Nails Creek are is very popular with families and couples. Nails Creek campground provides beautiful lake front sites while at Birch Creek the best sites are at the Cedar Elm camping area, which offer no hookups. - Open year round except for certain hunting date: please call the park for specific dates
- Site assignments by reservation must be made at least 48 hrs in advance. There is a deposit required which is the equivalent of one nights fee, to hold reservation. There are fees for canceling reservations, the earlier the better. For reservations call 512-389-8900
